Public Sector Team of the Year at the APA Awards 2025
Our Accounts Payable team has won Public Sector Team of the Year at the Accounts Payable Association Awards 2025. This is a monumental achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication the team has shown working with customers, including North Somerset Council, the London Boroughs of Bromley and Hounslow, and others.
What the award recognises
Despite facing stiff competition, APA’s judges were impressed with the service improvements implemented following the creation of the Finance and Accounting Tower within Liberata. This new structure has fostered closer collaboration between our AP teams, significantly enhancing communication, reporting, and processes.
Developing our people
Moreover, the investment in training has not gone unnoticed. The judges appreciated the ILM training completed by several of our managers, the support extended to the Apprentices working across our sites, and the rollout of the APA’s online training modules. All these initiatives have played a crucial role in delivering enhanced services to our current clients and developing new ones, such as the Duplicate Payment Recovery Service.

Why our team stood out
Our Accounts Payable Team won the award for their consistent performance and innovative approaches in public sector services. Their key strengths included managing high payment volumes, surpassing KPIs, enhancing controls over purchasing cards, and launching digital voucher services for our customers’ residents. They achieved all this while handling higher workloads without extra staff.
