Multi-Academy Trust chooses Liberata to transform Accounts Payable

Liberata is delighted to announce its latest customer win in the education sector – The Two Counties Trust (TTCT). The Trust has selected Liberata to provide vital Accounts Payable services, as part of its drive to transform to a modern finance function.

The Two Counties Trust (TTCT) is a Multi-Academy Trust established in April 2016, operating from a Head Office in Kirkby in Ashfield with 9 secondary schools across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Providing education to over 10,500 students, the Trust employs over 1,300 staff and has an annual turnover in excess of £60m. Their mission is to provide students with opportunities and experiences to enhance their life choices, making a positive contribution to the world.

The TTCT management team has an aspiration to develop a finance function which facilitates strategic objectives and supports future growth of the Trust by making strong financial control and efficient processes part of business as usual.

The Trust determined that finding the right outsource partner to take responsibility for the Accounts Payable function would help them solve challenges such as manual processing, recruitment and retention of staff, and slow turnaround of month-end close.

Liberata was delighted to be awarded the contract following a competitive process. Their proposal set out how Liberata would meet TTCT’s objectives by providing benefits including:

  • Improving efficiency and reducing costs, through reduced time dealing with supplier issues, lower error rates, prompt processing of invoices and reconciling of supplier statements
  • Improving resilience, through access to a large pool of UK-based finance professionals, across Liberata’s Virtual Network, providing unparalleled business continuity capability
  • Access to Liberata’s range of solutions designed specifically to complement and extend the market-leading financial management systems. These include the Supplier Statement Reconciliation Service and Duplicate Payment Recovery Service.
  • Continuous improvement through an exciting roadmap of related services, including access to Liberata’s specialist Business Process Automation division, experts in workflow automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Machine Learning

“Liberata proved responsive to our requirements and provided a winning bid. We have now been through a smooth mobilisation process and look forward to continuing to work closely with the Liberata team to realise the benefits.”  Lois Gordon, Corporate Services Director (Interim), The Two Counties Trust

“We are delighted to have been selected by the Trust to deliver these important Accounts Payable services. We look forward to building a strong, lasting and collaborative relationship with TTCT for the future.” Mark Turner, Business Process Services Director, Liberata

Eastleigh Borough Council has worked with Liberata for a number of years who undertake the council's empty home reviews, and I must say, their service exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, they demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and a genuine commitment to addressing this critical issue in our community. Thanks to Liberata, the council has been able to maximise our empty home bonus year on year. This positive impact on our community cannot be overstated.

The RV Finder service from Liberata has really helped us ensure that our data is as accurate as possible and, when the VOA has processed the outstanding cases, I fully expect to see more than £1,000,000 of additional RV. The “risk and reward” model works well and the Council only has to pay for their success and the service is something that we will use on a regular basis.

Liberata has been empowered to create a seamless integration with technology to digitally transform the Revenues and Benefits service whilst trying to protect local jobs. The joint strategy has helped to deliver innovative solutions that have exceeded expectations, whilst providing savings to the authority. This surge in digital engagement has helped deliver strong year one outturn with electronic billing and the technology will enable us to show improvements in the benefits speed of processing and in Council Tax processing of moves, discounts and exemptions.
