The past 18 months have been some of the worse seen in generations: they have been tough on everyone including those who work across local authorities. The impact of the pandemic has hit extremely hard and even the normal daily activities and work tasks became difficult to conduct.
Authorities have seen staffing levels impacted where staff have been either off ill with COVID-19 or have had to self-isolate meaning frontline services have been impacted, back-office functions such as finance and accounts, benefits and revenues teams have all been impacted as well with those teams also potentially having to operate at reduced levels and in some cases, they haven’t been able to function at all and then services like business rate reviews, single person discount reviews and empty home reviews have been difficult to conduct as the opportunity to undertake site inspections may have been very limited. When you add in the increase in COVID grants and Universal Credit claims, teams have been stretched to near breaking point.
The start of 2021 brought hope that we wouldn’t be experiencing another year like 2020: whilst it started very much in the same vein, things have changed and, slowly but surely, the economy; the Country and the World started to get back on track.
Getting You Back on Track
With things becoming a little more normal, Liberata wants to offer a helping hand and support local authorities to get back on track
Come and visit stand #36 whilst at the upcoming IRRV conference and we can discuss how Liberata can help you, in the short or long term, with remote processing, Universal Credit Automation and our review services.
Our business rates reviews can help you identify potential new or additional rateable value. Did you know we generated an additional £900,000 for Leicester City Council? Read the case study here.
Liberata can also help with single person discount reviews, where we run around 520,000 reviews annually and have an average 4-5% removal rate. Liberata helped St Albans City and District Council recover £218,000 of fraudulent claims. Read the case study here.
Review services aside Liberata is also on hand to help with Universal Credit Automation, where our solution can help deliver over 80% touchless automation. Using our system South Ayrshire Council now only has to intervene on 18% of UC claims. Read the case study here.
Finally, our Anytime Service can help put you back on track, using the scale of our network we offer a flexible solution to help deliver services for you particularly where workload volumes have increased. Dacorum Borough Council was able to achieve £100,000 of resource savings utilising our Anytime Service. Read the case study here.
If any of these services would be of interest then feel free to come and see us at the event on stand #36. Alternatively, you can contact us by clicking here.
